The HR Manager will be required to lead and shape Berger Paints Jamaica Limited’s human resources strategies, providing leadership, consultation, and operational support.

Job Summary:

The HR Manager will be required to lead and shape Berger Paints Jamaica Limited’s human resources strategies, providing leadership, consultation, and operational support. They will need to align efforts with the company’s strategic objectives, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the ANSA McAL Group. The HR Manager’s focus will be on supporting the well-being, development, and engagement of our human resources, ultimately contributing to the long-term success of the business.

Job Description:

Workforce Planning Strategies:
- Implement workforce planning strategies, forecasting staffing needs, conducting skill assessments, and succession planning to ensure a skilled and capable workforce to meet current and future business objectives.
Recruitment Leadership:
- Lead recruitment efforts for key positions, developing job profiles, sourcing top talent, and conducting interviews to enhance the quality of our workforce.
- Ensure all budgeted roles are filled for the organization following the required workflow process for recruitment within the group.
Performance Management:
- Implement performance management processes, including goal setting, regular feedback, and appraisals to identify training needs and oversee the design and implementation of training programs.
- Oversee the effective implementation and communication of the Performance Management System across the Sector, including quality assurance audits to ensure that employees’ KPIs are aligned to strategic & business objectives.
- Ensure that performance reviews are completed according to agreed timelines.
Employee Engagement Initiatives:
- Develop and execute initiatives to boost employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Assess HR programs’ effectiveness using data-driven decisions and analytics for continuous improvement.
- Oversee employee communications; ensure that employees are aware of their job role and functions and Group HR policies & procedures
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs, design training programs, and oversee implementation to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and competencies, contributing to individual growth and organizational success.
HR Guidelines and Practices:
- Develop/update HR guidelines and practices to mitigate legal risks, maintain a fair and equitable workplace, and ensure adherence to employment laws.
- Conduct Industrial Relations reviews expeditiously and ensure that grievance handling is in accordance with the HR Bluebooks and respective Collective Agreements.
- Spearhead and/or advise in all aspects of the Company’s negotiations.
Strategic Alignment:
- Contribute to the development of the company’s overall strategic plan with a focus on HR-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives to facilitate the achievement of long-term goals.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Lead the Annual Salary Review Exercise for the business to ensure salary increases and bonuses are accurately paid within agreed timelines.
- Leads the implementation and health assessments of all employee benefits plans including but not limited to pension and health.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in a similar/ related field is required.
Master’s Degree would be considered an asset.
At least 7-8 years’ work experience in a related field, supporting at the Executive level.
